★★☆☆☆
NOT 100% silicone, so will not cook in as uses cheap fillers, DOES NOT pass "pinch test" turns white
Good: - Price - Use for sauces in lunchbox/bento - Great for holding all my different pre measured spices for mise en place recipe prep - Company claims lifetime guarantee - Highly rated product on Amazon, so lots of satisfied users Bad: - Made in China - Not for full size standard muffin trays (I knew before buying, but sharing in case someone sees this review and did not look closely at the item specs to see that it was not standard size) - Does not pass the silicone "pinch test" per The New York Times "The better silicone products cost more than the glass and metal ones they replace. Some of them are worth it. But beware: not all silicone is created equal. To reduce costs, some manufacturers add fillers to the product. Luckily there is a simple way to tell: pinch and twist a flat surface on the item. If white shows through, the product contains filler. Pure silicone does not change color when twisted." <----- for this reason this item is not appropriate to cook with as it turns white when pinching meaning it uses fillers. I want to avoid chemicals in food, so they can ONLY be used for cold bento style or pre measuring ingredients before I cook. With so many positive reviews thought I had found a legit product but I will keep looking. 2 Stars only because at least I can salvage them by using for recipe prep, disappointed I cannot cook with them.
