I bought this used it two times, the third time the wife put some warm soup into it... about 1pm that day I attempted to eat my soup but could not get the plastic inner lid off... I drive for a living so I gave it a couple tries and then put it away... I get home from work and try to take it off again w a rag in my hand, still wouldn’t budge, I assumed maybe a bunch of the soup got into the threads of the plastic cap. So I grabbed a pair of channel lock pliers to help get a grip and open it to pour out. Gave it a little crank and it exploded in my face, the lid flew off the pliers I had in my hand. Hit me in the forehead and left a deep gash. The sheer pressure of the air coming out, busted and burnt my lips and nose. It sounded like a gun shot! My ears are still ringing 4 hours later and my lips and nose are red, chaffed and burnt ... I was so lucky it hit my forehead, and not across my nose or worse one of my eye sockets, it could have blinded me. I called thermos and they said they couldn’t give me a number for anyone except them (customer support) they said they had to file a claim and message it to that department as they don’t even have a phone number. She said this was bad and they will give me a call within the hour, it’s been all day...no call.... Thermos company, this is completely unacceptable
