The first time I used my All-Clad Stainless Steel 10" Frying Pan (I bought the 10 piece $700 set through Amazon), I can't get it clean. I tried to follow instructions and turned down the heat on my electric burner from the usual 5+ to 4 and cooked 5 eggs with 4 ice cubes and a cover. The eggs steamed over with soft yokes in about the same time as in the past using my cheap non-stick 10" skillet. However, I cannot get this pan even close to clean using plastic scrubbing pad or brush or scouring sponge (harsh soaps and no metal cleaning devices). I have the Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser and Polish ordered but not received. My experience with the 3 Qt pan is very similar except not as severe from using it to fry hash-brown potatoes with vegetable oil in the bottom. In both cases as mentioned I turned down the heat. This set was a Christmas gift for my wife because she loves to cook as well and we have a 20 yr-old Teflon coated set that works great but not as pretty or highly recommended. I wanted to give her a first class, highly recommended, thicker metal cookware, but couldn't justify the $2500 for copper. So I chose the All-Clad Stainless Steel. She thinks it's gorgeous but doesn't want to use it if it will require so much cleaning time and weighs too much for her to lift. I'm resisting sending it back if I can figure out what I did wrong in my efforts to cook my eggs and hash-browns. Any advice or resolution from all you happy All-Clad users? Thanks!
