I just received this toaster. 1. The cord does not stay put through the metal holder on the bottom. The heat from the bottom of the toaster touching the cord could start a fire. 2. I plugged it in and turned on both sides. There was a horrible smell of burning plastic coming from it. 3. I cancelled both sides that were heating. Then, I accidentally touched the outside of the toaster. It was blazing hot. 4. Now I know why the instructions said not to put the toaster under a cabinet and to unplug it after use. Other toasters don't have those warnings. 5. I will not return it because it is clearly defective and if it is restocked, it could burn down a house. 6. I have read other reviews here and I am really concerned about these toasters that break down so quickly. They could be a fire hazard.
