Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I MUST clarify -- this game/app would get a HARD 5 STARS IF the games weren't timed. I wouldn't mind the timed games as much if they weren't timed in such a way that the "power ups" or "in app purchases" became mandatory to proceed in the game. For the first 18 or so levels - the time is 8 to 10 minutes to receive 3 stars & you are given even more time to receive 2 or even 1 star. Obtaining 1 star still allows you to proceed to the next level. But, once you reach the 20's & 30's level - you are on a COUNTDOWN CLOCK that gives you amounts like 4 MINUTES total to complete the entire puzzle. I had read a couple other reviews that talked about this, but I wanted to give it a go. I was on the hunt for a mahjong game with eye catching graphics, great animation, & possibly one that had an option to have a timed game or possibly the option to turn off the clock as one might do for the sound &/or music. Turning off the time is NOT possible at this time. Furthermore, it is nearly impossible to enjoy the awesome graphics & animation when you are trying to beat a fast clock. I want to also note other reviews wrote about some of the larger puzzles having such small tiles - this is SO true! Again, the smaller tiles wouldn't be such a big deal to me if I wasn't trying to beat a clock. I will confess that it's addictive enough that I have used in app purchases to be able to play longer (you can add a minute to expired time or use a power up to give you hunts, etc), but I will most likely have to stop playing this game. The price of these power ups make the gems disappear fast. It is really a shame & it would be great if the game developer would read through some of these reviews to possibly make adjustments on an update. I enjoy this game, but have now become frustrated & aggravated how I have reached a level that is impossible to pass even with using in app purchases/power ups. I added up how many & much in app purchases I have made over the day & I must stop. I have now been trying to beat this one level w/o extra power ups in hopes that the other levels are at the pace as the first ones, but at this point...I feel like this is one of those games that pulls you in & then almost forces you to make in app purchases to be able to playing the game. I don't write many reviews, but be warned....the other reviewers are correct. Fabulous game in every respect other than reaching a certain point in the game when the puzzles get larger, the tiles get practically microscopic, the timer becomes a count down clock of only 3 to 4 minutes, & it seems the later levels are impossible to complete without in app purchases. Total Bummer!!!
