The USB receiver sticks to the mouse magnetically. This works fine most of the time. But the inevitable happened. I lost the USB receiver. After checking online forums and getting nowhere, I called Microsoft. A kind gentleman in India had to transfer me back to the U.S. since he didn't know how I could get a replacement. The lady in the US customer service informed me that they don't sell or provide replacement USB receivers for this mouse. She recommended I go to Best Buy and see if they have a universal adapter. I'm trying to see if that's an option now, but what a hassle! Microsoft: this is an easy solution, make the USB receiver available for sale! Charge me $10, no problem. Otherwise I have a wasted mouse. Besides that the mouse is real nice. I like that it folds flat to slide into my laptop bag.
