These jars are labeled with lead paint
Right before receiving these jars, I happened to read an article about a popular infant sippy cup that had been found to contain lead paint. So, on a whim, I decided to check the paint on these jars for lead. To my complete surprise, the paint on the jars tested positive for lead. As shown in the photo, the test swab and the paint turned red, indicating the presence of lead. I am shocked, especially since, when I contacted Wee Sprout about these jars, they specifically told me the paint on them is lead-free. This is a lie.
The lead paint is on the outside of the jars, meaning that it does not come into direct contact with the food inside, but my baby, and most babies, wants to put anything and everything in her mouth, so it is very likely she would wind up chewing on the lead paint. This is a major health hazard and I am so angry that Wee Sprout would not only use lead paint on their jars, but then lie to consumers about it. I will be returning these jars and contacting the manufacturer.
