I tried two of these models, as they were recommended by the Wirecutter. The button on the bottom of the brew basket got stuck on both of them, which prevents the brew-and-pause feature from working. If you remove the carafe before the machine is finished brewing (and sometimes after the machine has indicated brewing is finished) HOT coffee STREAMS out. I called OXO about a new brew basket, and they were backordered until May. This tells me there is a design flaw that is quite common, despite what the OXO service rep said. I have returned both machines, and will not be trying a new one. It's otherwise a great machine, but WAY overpriced considering it doesn't have such a basic feature.
