We bought this kettle about a year ago. Initially I loved it. It heats water as expected and the blue light when it's heating is really pretty. I have 2 complaints that make me regret the purchase. 1. When you fill the kettle, the lid doesn't open far enough which makes it difficult to position under the faucet. I can't sit the kettle in the sink to fill it, because when I do the water hit the lid rather than the opening. This is a minor complaint and easy to work around. 2. Water has gotten in between the glass and the black plastic base (not the base it sits on but the base that is always attached to the glass) and green MOLD has grown in that space. There is no way to clean it. It's on the outside of the glass, but it just looks gross. I had my last electric kettle for 10 years, but will be replacing this one with a different one because of the mold issue.
