When we first got this we loved it and used the skillets several times each week to make eggs. HERE IS THE PROBLEM... The skillets start loosing there Teflon coating very quickly inside and out. FLAKING INTO OUR FOOD or in a dishrag... who knows!. (NO, we never used anything to clean them other than a standard dish rag and dish soap. nothing abrasive at all). We have had the unit about 8 months now, I contacted West Bend about the issue and got no where. You can buy replacement pans from West bend for $6 ea. plus shipping. If I buy two pans and pay for shipping i am 1/4 the cost of my total toaster. I read up on how Teflon coatings are supposed to be applied and it is my best estimate that these pans were not done correctly and this is why they are pealing so quickly. I supplied West bend with my invoice from Amazon. Apparently that's not enough, I also supplied them with every number off the bottom of the toaster. Apparently that's not enough for them to even make an offer to assist on this matter. The most disappointing thing is I recommended this product to friends who bought it for Christmas. They are having the same issue with the Teflon pealing off there pans. Inside and out.
