Not Real Happy with my Purchase
After a few weeks in operation I can not recommend this Hot Tub.
Issue #1: Curbside Delivery, plan on an extra $250-$500 to get this put in place, delivery will literally leave it at the curb, plan on having local hot tub movers coming to move into place otherwise it will be sitting on the curb for a few days. This is not clearly stated on this listing.
Issue #2: It comes pre-wired for 110v with a GFCI cord. Plan on hiring an electrician to either change out outlets as per building codes outdoor outlets need to be GFCI protected and you can't plug their GFCI cord into a GFCI outlet. Or you can add another circuit or convert to 240v. Plan on $500 or so for this. It isn't really plug and play.
Issue #3: Check really carefully for leaks and then check again and again, I had a big one and had to make a few trips to the hardware store and think it is almost fixed, not great workmanship on the fittings. <Update: a year and a half later and still leaking. Took a year to track down manufacturer as Essential Hot Tubs does not exist as an entity (I noted this to Amazon, they stated to this is and when I asked for company information Executive Relations stopped responding). This is a Strong Spa. Luckily Strong Spas is going to fix outside of warranty as a one time good will gesture.>
Issue #4: Plan on buying extra screws, they strip remarkably easy, another trip to the hardware store, maybe manufacturer could throw a few more in?
Issue #5: The waterfall jets are really cool, but literally on second use the left waterfall jet lost pressure and is 1/3 the height. Another manufacturing issue.
Issue #6: If you run at 110v you can't heat and run the jets simultaneously, not that big a deal but it is something that would have been nice to know.
Issue #7: It takes days to heat up at 110v, again not a huge issue just an FYI.
Issue #8: No real place to pull the cord out, I removed a Styrofoam panel and fed it through.
Issue #9: Manual doesn't really address anything for self install, guess they assume you will be hiring electricians and local hot tub maintenance.
Now to the actual functioning, it is relaxing and it has pretty decent jet placement. It works well at 110v and the jets have plenty of power.
Overall, would I buy again, NO, I would purchase from a local hot tub dealer, absolutely not from Amazon, nor will I make a large purchase from Amazon again as executive relations will stop responding rather then try to address your legitimate issues. Better to have someone to stand behind their product on such a large purchase.
If you do buy plan on an extra $1500 or so for supplies, local install, local electrician, and local hot tub maintenance to check on leaks.
<Update: Strong Spas looks to be honoring the problems created by Amazon's dishonesty in not disclosing that this is a Strong Spa. Amazon executive relations is now ignoring me when I simply asked for Essential Hot Tubs corporate relations, address, or phone number. Essential Hot Tubs (who the warranty is through according to Amazon) does not exist as an entity. So until they fix the issues on the Amazon site (which Executive Relations says is correct) assume there is NO warranty.
I am pretty surprised Amazon is this unethical to be honest, never thought it would be the case but the actual manufacturer Strong Spas is actually standing behind the sale far more then Amazon is.>
