A key feature for an emergency radio is when there is a NOAA alert, the radio will inform you of that alert. According the the instructions "Set the band selector to Weather and turn the weather band to your local weather station. Then set the power selector to NOAA Alert and the Voyager will go on automatically when there is an alert from the National Weather Service." Unfortunately, after I purchased this radio, there was a local NOAA Alert and the radio did not go on. If this feature is important to you, do not purchase this radio.
