Ugh
Picture it: it’s 1980. You’re sitting on your mustard colored shag carpet connecting every section of straight hot wheels track you can find in your brothers room. You jam one end into the cushion of the yellow wingback and the rest of the track goes all the way down the hall. You get your tote of matchbox cars and take them one by one and let them roll down the hill and watch with mad anticipation to see how far they will go, always surprised and disappointed that your favorites didn’t perform well. You did this for hours, days, years and you loved it. It’s a core memory. Jump ahead to 2020, no wait, let’s back up just a bit and pretend 2020 doesn’t exist. It’s 2019: you purchase this super cool hot wheels track for your son’s birthday. It looks awesome! You wish you had it when you were a kid. Then you set it up, put in 4 C batteries and get to hear vacuum like roar of the spaceship looking booster. It takes roughly 29 tries for your kid to figure out the launcher. Now would be the time to grab a beer. Then you need to constantly remind them they have to reset the loop booster each time. He plays with it for as long as it takes you to finish your beer and you want to cry. Save your money and tears and buy a few packs of straight track.
