I've used tiles for several years now. I now need a separation or proximity alarm feature. Even though competitors have it for free, I decided I'd pay the $3 per month for Tile's premium features so that I could get their smart alarm, which is advertised as "Be notified by the Tile app when you leave home without your important things." And, it shows a notification screen that says "looks like you left your keys home". Great! What they don't tell you is that alert appears 20-30 minutes after your phone lost contact with your keys. For me, that means once I've already arrived at my office by bus. I specifically purchased an extra tile for my ID badge, but I'll be standing outside my office with no ID to enter before Tile sounds the alarm. That's totally useless. I verified this with Tile premium support and they confirm that the 20-30 minute delay is how it's supposed to work. I'm returning all of my tiles and replacing them with Cube, Chipolo, Trackr, Orbit, or one of the others once I have completed my research. I want a two-way separation alarm, meaning that if I leave anything behind, including my phone, the other devices will alert me as soon as I'm out of bluetooth range. I'd also like for the app on my iPhone to automatically restart if it gets stopped. Crowd locating would be nice, but I'm having a problem determining which products have the largest crowd locating base behind tile. Any information on a product that meets my specs would be greatly appreciated.
