I don't believe this is real silk. I have a corn intolerance (which can be in a lot of polyester). I used this pillow case after washing with a safe soap and broke out in hives! I can not say enough bad things about this pillow case. I've never reacted like this before. The hives cover my ears and the back of my neck. I sleep with my hands on my face thankfully which is why its not there. The hives itch so bad its hard to answer the phone at work.
