waste of $
I purchased this book along with a few anatomy books for stretching, yoga, & strength training. This is the only book i regret buying.
The author (A Man) assumes you don't want to lift heavy weights. He spends half the book talking down to women, like we're dumb. Maybe I just felt that way because he didn't tell me anything i didn't know. It has a negative vibe, he even goes on about previous articles he's written that were the opposite of what he's writing about in this book.
The workouts are fine, quite basic nothing special. Nothing you can't learn by reading a free article on a fitness website.
The recipes are good, but again, nothing i haven't done already.
Yes lifting is great for you, but this book is not anything special, I do not recommend it.
Instead, I recommend "Anatomy For Women For Strength and Fitness Training" It has all the same exercises as NRLFW, but with more detailed descriptions of proper form & illustrations of all the muscles being used. Therefore, you will learn more about the muscles in your body. It includes a fitness test, and several different workouts depending on your goals.
