Well this monitor almost burned my house down... I noticed a couple weeks ago that it was making a clicking noise off and on and having trouble connecting to the other receiver (which is less than 20 feet away im the next room). I didn’t think much about it because it was a cheap monitor anyway. We started to have to jiggle the wall adapter a bit where it inserts to the hand held receiver to get it to work. Again, thought it wasn’t a big deal, cheap monitor right?! Wrong. I came home from work today and immediately opened the door and smelled something burning. After searching the house I found that the monitor must have shorted something in my outlet and was burning through the wall (see picture). Thank goodness I came home when I did!!! (Side note there were no batteries in the plugged in portion of the monitor at the time and nothing else was plugged into that outlet.)
