So I ordered these a few years ago, never really used them that much, but during this quarantine started getting back into swabs, and cultures. Decided with the CDC sending out contaminated swabs that I would do a control study every time I swabbed someone. I would grow a dish with an actual sample then swab the plate with the sterile applicator, almost every control sample grew massive amounts of colonies. Im so disappointed and my trust has been shattered. How many patients are actually getting inoculated with bacteria every time they go in for a swab? Really guys? If it says sterile, that means I shouldn't be able to grow bacteria off the tip, and we aren't talking a few colonies, we're talking >100,000.
