Ms. Lucas is a great writer. I really liked a couple of her first books. I think this one was my last one though. I totally don’t mind the Minotaur being the great big hero and the human was a strong heroine. I love strange, weird, and dark but not rape billed as a romance novel. This was thinly veiled rape on a horrific scale. Not sure why so many of the books I’ve been reading lately are of force and not love. I guess eventually there is some kind of love but more like Stockholm syndrome to me. The agony of a bull cock is not something a human should have to endure and especially when shoved in and mounted with no real foreplay. I just don’t get it. And there was no real choice. Get raped for survival and then somehow love the anti-hero. Are the modern authors all going to the same seminars for this sad excuse for romance.
