The connector is plastic, which I needed to tighten down to stop the leaks at the pipe coming from the wall. I tightened it too much and the connector nut broke. This is the weak part of the shower unit. The pivot ball barely pivots and my shower head sits fairly high. It would not pivot enough to shower downwards on you, but rather just hits the back of the shower stall. I had to use my old parts to finish installation. Wife not happy and neither was I. Basically we had to stand at the back of our small shower stall of basically just get sprayed in the face. The shower head itself is good. It just needs a better, and hopefully metal connector. It's also one of these AS seen on TV products which normally isn't the best.
