I have absolutely no idea why the reviews are so good. I bought this because it was advertised as firming for overly soft mattresses. My mattress is too plush, giving me moderate back pain every day. I searched for a supportive topper and came across a few websites that listed latex toppers as the best for firming. Since this latex topper was a popular product on Amazon, I purchased it, and it came within 2 days. Once I placed it on top of my mattress, I felt virtually no difference in the plushness of my bed. I figured worst case, I can return it after trying it out for a few days. It couldn't have made my bed LESS supportive right? WRONG WRONG WRONG. This mattress topper was HORRIBLE. All night I felt my back and butt aching from the lack of support. My bed sunk in even MORE than it did before, and when I woke up, my entire back was in excruciating soreness. I have never had such bad back pain before when I slept on my bed without the mattress topper. I'm returning this as soon as possible, and I warn you to stay away from this product if you're trying to firm up a soft mattress. For those who are wondering, Yes I bought the FIRM version and Yes this mattress topper also smells awful. I could smell it through my fitted bedsheet.
