The TV comercial shows the demonstrator using an electric mixer in the pot - don't try it unless you are into eating the finish that scratches off very easily. Might work with rubber mixer blades. This set is not scratch proof or scratch resistant. I have contacted Amazon for a return and refund. Because of the chipping and scratching we are afraid to use the pots and pans.
