This cleaning machine was easy to assemble and I thoroughly read the instructions before trying the machine for the first time. I decided the first thing I would try was to remove a small spot from a rug in our living room. The brush on this machine is so aggressive that is mauled and damaged our $1,400 rug. Within 10 seconds of trying the machine on a small spot on our rug I realized it was pulling and tearing the fibers from the rug. I immediately stopped the machine and saw the once tightly knit and detailed rug was now shaggy and muted in the area I ran the machine. The instructions should have a huge warning "DO NOT USE ON RUGS." See the image I posted showing all of the broken and loose fibers that now extend 1" above the rug surface. We are so bummed as we recently renovated our main floor and this rug was brand new a couple months ago. Now it looks really bad in the 12" x 12" area that the brush damaged. Their should be a way to disengage the brush.
