I usually don't write reviews but I am compelled to write this one. I owned the previous model of this pole saw which served me well for many years. So when it finally give up the ghost I decided to replace it and this was what was offered. The first one arrived and I assembled it according to instructions only to find when I was finished that one of the cam locks was broken. I tried to contact the manufacturer to see if they would send me the replacement for the cam handle but they refused so I had to return the entire Saw. Turns out once you've assembled the two halves of the pole they cannot be disassemble so returning it was quite the task. The second one arrived without any damage parts so I went ahead and assembled it. Turns out that the cam locks don't really hold the pole assembly tight enough and needed to be readjusted before using it. I suspect that this would be a reoccurring problem. This model comes with a different kind of handle which I found very difficult to manage once the pole is extended. Basically you have a 10 pound weight at the end of a 10 foot pole which means that you better be VERY fit in order to use this saw. So it was returned. I replaced it with the Snow Joe SWJ800E and I am delighted as it is everything that this Remington wasn't. The Snow Joe is much lighter and much better constructed with a much better lock. I had no problem using it fully extended.
