One of these days this might be a good idea, but neither Amazon, nor Canopy, nor SquareTrade is ready for the big-time when it comes to consumer electronics warranties. Don't waste your money. I bought two consumer electronics items in one order from Amazon, and a warranty with each. Unknown to me I was purchasing a warranty from two different vendors. Neither SquareTrade nor Canopy was able to indicate which item it was that their warranty covered. I finally figured it out from the price differential (one item was in a slightly higher price bracket than one of the warranty coverages. Lucky me. Neither SquareTrade nor Canopy listed the mfgr of the items I bought as one of their covered product lines, though each gave me the opportunity to say, "other." Both items were purchased as gifts for other people. I am not convinced, by my experience so far, that I will be able to simply transfer the warranties over to the recipients. Based on their slipshod and incomplete transfer of data from Amazon, I have very little confidence that should a warranty situation arise, it will be honored. Don't waste your time or money.
