Pricing take advantage of fanbase; amazon no help
This is my first review on amazon. I love Doctor Who. The first episode with the new Doctor was overall just OK. There were moments of brilliance that alluded to future potential and many more moments of humdrum that fell into the same lull the last few seasons have. But this review is not about the first episode of season 8, this review is over the deceptive pricing strategies. When I purchased the season pass there was no indication the price would be any more than the average ($2.99 for HD and $1.99 for SD). However, I was first charged ~$1.50 for a non-episode, which I did not want and did not care about. Then was charged ~$8 for the first episode. Not only was this deceptive but at it's core it did the one thing a show like Doctor Who should never do: took advantage of the loyal fan base. When I raised the issue with Amazon, they said their hands were tied as the content owner sets the pricing for individual episodes but assured me the remaining episodes would cost the normal point ($2.99 HD and $1.99 SD). Overall I feel the episode was a 6, the pricing a 1 and the level of amazon support a 1.
