If you are looking for a bike rack for two bikes, I highly recommend Allen Sports’ 4 Slot Bike Rack. Unfortunately, If you have 4 bikes, Allen doesn’t have an 8 Slot Bike Rack. Easy rule of thumb? Take the total number of bikes that the Rack says it can hold, divide that number by two, and then you’ll have the number of bikes you can fit onto the rack. In other words, if you don’t feel like wrestling with the devil every time you want to take you bikes somewhere, I would recommend a more spacious bike rack. However, in all seriousness though, you will be able to put four bikes on the 4 Slot Bike Rack, but expect to have trouble. Also, any bikes that have smaller than a 17.5 in. frame won’t fit into the rack. You should also know that crisscrossing the bikes (front wheel facing left, next bike’s front wheel facing right, etc.) is impossible. Finally, where the hitch joins the receiver, there isn’t a simple pin and clip, there is a “anti-rattle” nut and bolt that you will have to tighten and loosen every time you want to take off the rack. In Layman’s terms, I would suggest finding a more spacious bike rike, even if that means spending a little more money.
