FoodSaver V2244 Advanced Design Vacuum Sealer, Black I purchased the V2244 model about 10 months ago. I like its compact size and have enjoyed using it for those bulk buys at the store. After about nine months the unit would try to vacuum out the air but would not complete the process and switch to seal. I reread the warranty to verify that it was fully covered for one year. I called Foodsaver and told them the problem I was having and they think I need new gaskets. They told me that these were not covered under warranty. I told the CSR that the warranty says it covers everything, no exclusion about the gaskets and it made no difference. She told me the gaskets were $3.00 each (requires 2) but I would be charged $13.00. It's not really about the $13.00, it's the extreme overcharge for the shipping and more than that, it's the fact they did not honor their warranty. I've given several of these for gifts and recommended them to many people. I won't do that again!!!!
