Cheap materials. Cheap upholstery. Cheap hardware. Assembly tools not supplied or missing
I've had this Z-Creeper in it's original box sitting in my front hallway since it arrived. (July 2017) I finally opened the box today and assembled it. In this case, you get what you pay for. This creeper is junk. As my title says, cheap materials. I can't imagine the paper thin vinyl(?)(maybe actual paper?) lasting even a few days under frequent use. Seriously, the cardboard packing would last longer than whatever is covering this thing. Cheap upholstery. There is essentially NO padding under the cheap, paper thin vinyl. Cheap hardware. One of my casters is already damaged - from tightening. No, I didn't over tighten it. Lack of assembly tools. My creeper came with a single open end "wrench" which was unable to grip the bolt head it was meant to grip, once the bolt started to get tight. I had to use 2 box end wrenches. There is no allen key to tighten the 4 wheels that need it. At least I didn't get one. Everyone knows, everything that requires an allen key to assemble comes with the appropriate size allen key. Not this thing. There's nothing provided to tighten the other 2 wheels that don't use the allen key. If you don't have a perfectly smooth surface to roll across where you're working, the TINY casters will be worthless. Even rough cement will stop them from spinning. I tried mine out on a tile kitchen floor - it's a "natural" tile, not perfectly smooth, and the creeper had problems rolling. I KNOW the damaged caster is going to give out the first time I really try to use the creeper. Especially if hit a crack. SNAP! it's gone. And the fact is, even though my garage and 1800 square foot shop both have smoother floors than my kitchen, the caster is still going to break. I guarantee it. I'm assuming the creeper is made for either adults of very short stature or children. I am 5'10". I am NOT supported from head to "hips". My head is over the top of the creeper if I want my "hips" on the padding. The seat area as well, is sized for children. I don't do a lot of reviews. I buy a lot from Amazon and should probably do more reviews. Both good and bad. But this item is such garbage, I had to say something. Bottom line. Don't buy junk. This creeper is junk. Don't buy this creeper.
