Worked GREAT for 3 months - wonderful smoothies, with finely-crushed ice. Then the blender ripped its own bottom out! The motor generates lots of torque, and the plastic bottom to which the blades & drive are attached is NOT up to the job. Great blender for light-duty use. If you want to make smoothies (with ice) or do any heavy-duty chopping, don't buy this blender!
