May let your child use your REAL MONEY to buy fake coins
Daughter: "Oh, look, Mom, it's a CROC! I've always wanted one of those!" Mom: "Just like I had when I was your age! I fed mine pizza. what does yours eat?" Daughter: "Cash." The Good: + It's cute The Bad: - This app runs in the background at all times, accessing the internet. - You don't get the full game you pay for unless you promote it on Facebook and Twitter each day. - You use real money from your credit card on Amazon to buy fake coins; I don't remember the original game charging your credit card. - Teaches children to waste money. Just a quick question: if your 6th-9th grader has a phone, do you really want he or she to get into trouble with his or her phone? If you remember the original game, then you'll understand why this app would not be a good thing to have on their phone, especially if they figure out how to turn IAP back on during lunch, and start posting to Facebook and Twitter each day. I didn't think so. [UPDATE: The vendor updated this app to remove coin IAP, but two problems remain, however: Expect IAP to return after thousands of people download this as the Free App of the Day, and it still requires daily posting to Facebook and Twitter to get the full game.]
