Don't waste your time or money. I bought this unit because I was impressed by rowing workouts achieved by gym-quality units and wanted to try a less expensive alternative for home use. In addition to it being noisy, and the shock-fade due to temperature build-up, during the 9 months I've used it, the shock has broken twice. The shock broke in exactly the same place, and each failure required a shock replacement. Classic metal fatigue due to an extremely poorly designed component. It happens at end of the shock where there is a spot weld that attaches the mounting loop to the shock body. I'm on my third shock now. To Stamina's credit, they offered free component replacements for the first two failures. However, they told me that the next time it breaks, it's on my dime. That won't happen. When this breaks again in an estimated 2 - 3 months, the whole thing is going to the curb. You get what you pay for.
