Terrible for small pills, it's a pill-et gun; questionable for large pills
Great as a pellet gun... pill shooter.... maybe a Where's Waldo puzzle maker? Don't get this if you have small pills to cut. About half the time, it will work, albeit with a blade that seems to have trouble penetrating the pill. The other half, you get to play an episode of hide-and-pill-seek. The first few times I did this, I made the mistake of holding the pill cutter off of the counter. Half the pill shot across the counter and onto the floor. This was followed by yelling at the dogs to stay away and pressing my cheek against the cold floor to try and locate the pill which would be ever so slightly higher than its surface. Found it! (in the video, it just falls out... trust me, on more than one occasion, it shot out and across the counter, onto the floor) One time, I thought that had happened again. I hit the deck in a panic that I lost another one. Couldn't find it. Turns out it was trapped underneath the blue tray. Had to use a fork to get it out. Sometimes, you get a dud. It doesn't shoot out leaving you disappointed. It just sort of falls out of the back. I'll just stick with my basic Orsini Stainless Steel Blade Pill Splitter / Cutter. No fancy gathering cup but the pill remains where you put it. No magic act following the cut. "Where did it go?" Big pills maybe. But not for long - this blade doesn't seem very sharp. If you are going to use it on small pills, do it resting on a surface. Maybe put a towel behind it... rolled up... half circle.... a capture point. Just no.
