Not nearly as good as the original or older replacement foils. Twice as long to get a worse shave than before
I purchased my Braun 790cc shaver in March 2010. Before that, I had a series 3 shaver. The series 3 was good and the series 7 shaver even better, although loud. Since 2010, I've probably replaced the foil shaver head about every 18 to 24 months with no issues at all. I was very happy with the quality of the shave I was getting. It was never as close as a standard razor, but I can't use a standard razor or I get razor bumps. Even when I replaced a razor head before after 18 months or longer, it was actually still giving me a pretty good shave. My last shaver head broke (plastic leg in the mechanism) on one side after about 2 years so I had to order another one in May 2016 and I've been using it since then. First, this shaver head does not shave nearly as well as the 20-24 month old head it replaced. It leaves a noticeable stubble all over my face. It gets me by to be presentable for work, but that's about it now. As others have stated, it does look a little different now, having a different hole pattern and hole shape compared to the shaver head it replaced. I've tried getting used to it. To get close enough I have to rub harder. It takes about twice as long to shave now and get a worse shave. Also, this Braun Series 7 electric shaver has always been loud, but with the new shaver head it's significantly louder. Irritatingly loud. And now, after only after about 4 months, its even worse, like it's already wearing out. FYI, I don't need to "get used to" using an electric shaver, I've been using this one for over 6 years and I've been using this shaver head for 4 months. Now I have a problem. What do I do next? I was perfectly happy with my Braun Series 7 shaver until this replacement shaver head. These shavers are expensive. Since the head seems to be the problem, I doubt buying another Braun shaver will solve the issue, even if it's a newer model because the rest of my series 7 shaver still works fine, aside from cosmetic (cleaning solution eventually eats away at the finish around the head). If I could get the previous version of the shaver head, that would be great, but I have not been able to find any and I don't think you could even tell before you order. I guess I could keep buying this inferior replacement razor head, to get me by, but now replacing this thing every 3 to 4 months is going to get expensive. The reason I switched to an electric razor in the first place in because shaving with a regular razor and shaving cream I would get razor bumps. I recently tried going back to the standard razor and got the same results. I would appreciate anyone's feedback who is having the same issue with the Braun Series 7 replacement shaver head for an alternative electric razor or any other suggestions.
