I received this just prior to Christmas, and used it for the first time this weekend. I was making baked raviolis and baked tortellini. I was excited to use the new baking dish alongside my old standby Pyrex dish. I used this dish for the tortellinis. Both dishes were filled with sauce and cooked pasta, topped with mozzarella while at room temperature and placed into the oven to heat/melt the cheese without the cover. The dishes were in for less than ten minutes when we heard a large boom and saw steam coming from the oven. Upon opening the oven, we found that this dish had exploded, sending glass shards and baked tortellini all over the oven, top to bottom, and glass shards landed in the other Pyrex dish (which, btw, was fine). My other Pyrex baking dish is over twenty years old and has been used weekly for different dishes without incident. This was not a case of thermal shock in my opinion. If it had been misuse on my end, then the other Pyrex dish should have suffered injuries as well. I placed a call to World Kitchen and they are sending me a replacement, as they believe this dish was defective.
