Opening is a bit small, but product works nicely. However, I am disappointed with the lining. Looking at the color options, I bought two of this model for my sister and I. When I gave it to her, she immediately questioned the lining (which I had also been surprised with when I opened mine). Sure enough, the box has a California Proposition 65 warning, and a more detailed look at the description says it has a nonstick lining. While the details are not provided on amazon (and should be), the zojirushi website indicates this lining to be teflon. Teflon production involves perfluorooctanoic acid, so I suspect this is the source of the P65 warning. It is frustrating to try to move away from plastic to avoid chemical exposure, only to find stainless steel options also coated with questionable compounds. Whether or not the PFOA is still in the product post-manufacture, using teflon contributes to the production of more of this questionable chemical. I also found the product outgassed, and smelled strongly of plastic for the first few days (even after hand washing). Surprised no other reviews mention this.
