100% Synthetic False Advertising to Hike Price - Burn Tested
This cap is made of synthetic (plastic) satin and is falsely advertised as silk satin from silkworm fed on an exclusive diet of mulberry leaves. This vendor is charging the cost of genuine mulberry fed silkworm 22 momme silk satin weave fabric for plastic satin weave fabric. Silkworm silk is an organic material so it burns and turns to ash. Plastic threads melt and curl, leaving hot, deformed, smoking plastic. When I flipped back the seam on the hem of the opening for the elastic strap and burned the fabric, it melted, it did not burn. Maybe I am hypersensitive but I could also feel the static in the fabric when I pulled out of the box as well. Genuine silk does not conduct electricity like plastic which is why it is the preferred option when purchasing satin weave fabrics. If you are sleeping with a silk cap, your goal is most likely smooth hair. For my fine 3A hair, static causes friction and other problems that I am wearing a cap to avoid. So I got a product that I was specifically trying to avoid and I was way overcharged for it.
