So, I bought the newer model of this product today from Walmart, and let me just say one sentance to sum up the product: “I just got back from the ER.” While doing some sewing with this, the needle pierced through the thimble 3 times, and the third, impaled my finger. Only then did I realize that the eye of the needle didn’t leave my finger, and was visible from the back of my nail. Had to go to the ER to have it surgically removed. I literally bought this product specifically to avoid this from happening. So yeah, get a real thimble, not this hunk of plastic garbage.
