I am so fed up with this machine! I will NEVER buy another Bissell product. I have had non-stop problems with the hose after about 6 months of sporadic use of this machine. The hose cracked right near the handle making the unit completely unusable. Fortunately, it was still covered under warranty. However, don't count on Bissell authorizing the repair/replacement hose in any reasonable time frame. It took MONTHS before they finally authorized the repair. Now, it has happened again and, of course, it's no longer under warranty. I've tried duct taping the hose but it leaks like a sieve and now has 3 separate cracks. I want to assure others that I've been extremely careful with this hose, no tugging, pulling or anything beyond normal use. It's not cost effective to re-purchase another hose and pay for the repair out of pocket so I'm now looking for another portable spot cleaner, obviously NOT a Bissell. Buy at your own risk - plan on it not lasting more than a year, if that.
