I have been a life long Braun customer. In the past I used the series 7 and replaced the foil & Cutter every 24 months. I purchased the series 9 in early 2017 and have experienced nothing but trouble with the foil & Cutter. So far, in 2017, I have replaced the cutter/foil 5 times. That is an average of every 60 days. The middle piece of the cutter (Gold color) keeps getting dislodged and scratches my face while shaving. This is an absolute annoyance. I thought that maybe I received a defective part, but not 5 times, within a year. I am seriously considering going back to the series 7 shaver.
