★☆☆☆☆
Poorly made, terrible customer service and a total ripoff at this point.
Travelpro used to be good brand, not anymore. At first glance this bag looks great, ample room, fits in overhead bins on every airline and nice long handle for this tall guy. The laptop sleeve on the front is great. The wheels are so so, not huge fan of the redesigned magnetic wheels, the bag has a tendency to roll away on the slightest inclines. The small pocket on top is also just OK, it's a little too deep and things get lost in it and it's hard to find stuff . The bad news, the zipper broke after 6 weeks and now I am dealing with the lousy customer. (see photo) One of the metal zipper pieces on the main compartment snapped off when I was packing at home. The metal on closer inspection is very porous and poorly cast. The pull tab is now unattached and it's very difficult to open and close the bag. Customer service is not good. The want me to send a bag from California to Florida via Fedex Ground which will cost me $45. Then they "will determine" if the bag is defective and let me know what it will cost to have it fixed, if they decide it is somehow my fault. I sent them pictures of the break and the original receipt from Amazon, there should be no question at this point that the piece is defective. The other option they gave me is to find a shop, drive there, drop off the bag and then wait until that places decides if it's a warranty issue, then drive back and pick it up. The nearest shop is 20 miles from my house. Terrible service on a new bag. Louis
