Mills butter, but at what cost?
If I had a dollar for every person that asked me, "How do you cope with cold butter?," well, I'd have enough to buy this product. Which I did, as a gift for my wife, which became a gift for me, because she wouldn't touch it. So, I lopped in a few sticks of butter, popped the lid on, and got to milling. What happened next will blow your mind! • It does, in fact, ribbonize your hard, stubborn butter. Until you scrape it upon your awaiting toasted bread product, at which point, it reglobulates in to a still-cold blob of butter. • Better to go quarter twists at a time, so as to avoid the first conclusion. Of course, taking this route means spending 3-8 minutes buttering a single slice of toast. I ain't got time for that. • Really firm butter will actually pop the top off the mill. Which means you have to wait until the butter softens before continuing to mill. Which means you have the time to wait for butter to soften. Which means you don't need this mill. I already offended Alton Brown by inviting this uni-tasker in to our home, and I only hope our recent trashing of the device will win us his favor back. I ain't holding my breath (or milling my butter).
