The Lowes gift card didn't work. When I tried to make an online purchase at their website my order was declined. I called the number on the back and after an extremely long hold time I was told the card is "on hold" and to try my order again in 24-48 hours. I waited 3 days, tried again and once again the gift card was declined. The next day I went into the store and tried to make the purchase there. The cashier confirmed the card had a $50 balance but the card was declined again. The store manager was very helpful and called the credit department but was unable to have the hold on the card removed. Fortunately the manager knocked $50 off my order to offset the bogus gift card. At the end of the day something that should have been easy was a complete hassle. Maybe I was just unlucky and got a defective card but it seems like fraud to sell a gift card that can never be used.
