You need to modify this swing
First the good: This porch swing is a very good size, easy to assemble and an attractive price.
The bad: This swing is flimsy. The premanufactured parts are assembled primarily with wood staples. The problem is that when you sit on this swing (which I presume buyers will do, unless they just bought the swing for show) the staples are not strong enough to hold the wood pieces together - the wood pieces of the bench seat simply pull apart...while you are sitting on it. I assure you I properly assembled the swing. How much do I weigh? I weigh 205 pounds + 18 pounds because I was holding my 9 month old daughter when I discovered this rather glaring design flaw. If you are young and agile enough to catch yourself before you (and child) drop 20 inches to the floor you might be willing to put several 2 inch wood screws into this product (and perhaps some glue for good measure), which tightens the swing up very nicely...and allows you to actually relax a little as you swing.
So to recap: This swing is a good design but poorly assembled by the manufacturer. Invest another dollar for several wood screws and 10 extra minutes to install them and you can swing in comfort...unless you enjoy the heady thrill of crashing to the ground amidst a pile of wood that was once your porch swing. Caveat emptor (buyer be warned).
