I was gifted this exact decanter three years ago and I love it. It's good quality, doesn't stain and to this day hasn't chipped or cracked. I like it so much, that I decided to order the same one for my best friend for his birthday. The new one arrived tonight and I opened it, only to find a decanter that is much thinner, smaller and all around cheaper in quality than the old one. Other reviewers complain that the decanter chips easily and stains - this is probably why. The old one even has circular ripples in the glass along the bottom that allow the wine to aerate better - the new one does not have this and is virtually flat along the bottom. Please look at the photos I've included that compare the old one (three years ago) to the new one from today and decide for yourself. I'll be returning mine tomorrow.
