I really like Amazon as a company. Great online store and deals, BUT this card and service is just a bad joke. I will not even discuss the ridiculous APR since I pay in time, but the approval process is crazy for a store card like this. After I applied I've no response via email, at least a notification of some kind. I have have got a letter 5 days later to notify me that I have to call them and confirm my info. A letter to tell me that I have to call them? I called them and the agent tried to verify my phone number by sending a text message that never was received. Then he verified like 3 times my SSN and multiple choice questions with my past addresses. After 30 min on the phone he told me I will get another letter in 7 bis. days with response. So, 1 online request, 1 letter, 1 long call in India and another letter to get a store card after 1.5 week when all my deals expired and not interested anymore in purchase. I was approved on 2 brand new cars in less then 10 minutes. Amazon should dump GE and get a reputable bank. UPDATE: After 2 weeks I called them again to check the status. I was denied! What in the world??? I have a nearly perfect credit score and best US credit cards with low apr. They can't tell me the reason why I was denied over the phone and I have to wait for another letter in 30 days! GE bank now is on my top of the list of WORST customer service, period
