It dawned on me recently that although we've been using our Samsung fridge water filter for years, I really don't know much about the filter itself so I bought a Zero water filter pitcher. It came with a water meter reader. I did a test in my home using 3 separate glass cups, all from the same dishwasher load - fully clean and dry. I tested my sink tap water, Zero water filter and these water filters above. I flushed the brand new water filter purchased above until the water ran crystal clear. It was reading as high as 192 last night. So I let the filter sit all night and flushed it two more times this morning. To look at it, this water was perfectly clear to drink. I flushed the Zero filter at least 8 times. Numbers don't lie... * Sink tap water - 44 * Zero filter - couldn't get it below an 8 (at a 6 it needs replacing) :( * But this fridge filter!!!! - 144 (frosty-looking because it was cold right out of the fridge.) So far I'm disappointed in both the Zero filter and this expensive fridge filter. We consume a lot of water on a daily basis and I'll be looking for a better solution for the cleanest water.
