i purchased this item at another store. i was feeling a bit chilly so i plugged in a space heater to the belkin surge proctector. smelled something burning and noticed that it coming from the surge protector. one of the outlets almost melted / burned up.. i called the company to see if they would replace the surge protector and was told no... that this product was meant to be used with small electronics such as ipads, radios.. etc. my space heater uses a max of 1500/900 watts, and this they said was out of the specs of the surge protector usage..they said that it only offers protection of up to 900 joules..ok, i am not looking for surge protection when i plug in something like a space heater but why does it say in the back of the surge protection - maximum load of 1875w? customer rep did not know what i was looking referring to and asked me where do i see that..looks to me like belkin doesn't stand behind their products. i'm throwing this away as it is not safe to use..
