The WORST customer support I've ever dealt with
First off, I'll say my introduction to Huawei was with the Nexus 6p and this smart watch. I've been generally impressed with the devices themselves; that is, except for the faulty speaker on my watch (I'll get to that). With that said, my experience with their RMA process has completely turned me off to the whole company. Previous to dealing with Huawei, the worst customer service I'd dealt with was Timewarner -- that's right they're worse than your cable company. I'm two months into the RMA process, and here's my story so far: 1.) I noticed the speaker on my watch was almost inaudible, even on max volume, so I decide to contact support. 2.) I email customer support, and a day or two later I get an email back telling me to call them (they can't do anything through email, so don't bother) 3.) I call customer support, and after going through some trouble shooting, the lady tells me they're going to send me a shipping label for an RMA. It'll take 1-2 days to send me the label (not sure why it takes this long). 4.) After waiting a week, I've heard nothing, I decide to call back. After some back and forth (have you sent us your device yet?), the rep tells me they actually need my proof of purchase in order to do anything. They're going to send me an email which I need to reply to with my proof of purchase. 5.) I wait a few more days, and I hear nothing again. I call back in, and eventually figured out they got my email wrong when I gave it to them over the phone. I give them my correct email and wait. 6.) I get the email within 24 hours, and respond with my proof of purchase. 7.) After waiting another 24 hours, I call in to check my status; they tell me they still haven't got my proof of purchase. I told the guy I replied to the email with it, is there another way to get this to you? He says nope, gotta do email. So I reply to the email again, and I also remember their web form has an attachment option so I'll do that also. 8.) Finally, a day or two later, I get an email saying "things to do before sending in your device". This email does not mention a shipping label, so I call in to ask about what to do next. They tell me there will be a separate email in 1-2 days with the label. 9.) I get the label, and nothing else, so I ship my device back. 10.) I wait a week or so after it says my device was delivered and decide to check my status. I call back in, and the support rep tells me I need to wait 10 business days before they can escalate things and determine my status. 11.) I wait 10 business days and call back in, and the rep tells me that actually I need to wait 14 business days and to call back on Monday. 12.) I call back on Monday and the rep tells me that actually that's actually 14 business days from the delivery date so I need to wait some more. 13.) I wait a few more days and call back in, and the rep tells me that he'll get ahold of someone higher up at the repair place to check my status. 14.) A day later, I miss a callback from the guy at the repair place. He tells me they got my watch, but haven't done anything with it because I didn't send the watch band with it. They need the watch band in order to even determine if they can repair the watch, apparently. No one told me I needed to do this. In fact, the "what to do before sending it in" email said explicitly to remove any attachments or accessories on the device. My band has already been fitted, why do I need to get rid of it? What's the BOM cost on that anyway? It's gotta be less than the cost to ship back. Anyhow, he doesn't leave me his name/number and instead kicks me back out to their main customer support number. 15.) I call the main support, and they tell my they're issuing another ticket number for the band. I'm currently waiting on another shipping label, but I'll update this review in a month or two when this process is over and they inevitably return my device unfixed. So that's where I'm at. Two months in and still waiting. I'll never purchase another product from this company. I've dealt with RMAs from other companies, and never has it been this difficult.
