If you have read negative reviews of this item and are still considering buying it because just maybe it would be worth trying since you don’t own a lathe and it is not expensive STOP. It is a piece of junk that, even it were high quality, Would not be worth buying because turning wood vertically is not a good idea and you need to get a mini lathe. I could go into detail but take my advice, I did the same thing you were thinking about doing and I regret it.
